WHAT ARE WE LOVING?
Hanitizer Season
It's that time of year again. GERMS, GERMS, GERMS. So, we are loving all the anti-bacterial products from Bath and Body Works. We love keeping the soap in our classroom for when our students need to wash up and stocking our teacher's bathroom. Let's face it. It's way better than the school's soap. Also, last year we gave out the personal size "hanitizers" to the teachers as a STUCO gift. This year we are thinking of giving them as Valentine gifts for our students.
WHAT ARE WE USING IN THE CLASSROOM?
Bitmojis
We love using bitmojis in our classroom, and our students love it too! Last year we created a voice level chart, bookmarks, gift tag labels, and EOY class awards. This year we created a homophone word wall and classroom library genre labels. If you are interested in any of the products, click HERE to visit our store.
WHAT ARE WE EATING
Crockpot Carne asda
This is my hubby's famous carne asda recipe. We love when we wake in the morning to the smell of it. We enjoy it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Hope you like it too! Sorry no pic.
Ingredients
2 to 3 pound roast, cut into bite size pieces
1 large onion diced
2 8 ounce cans of tomato sauce
1 tablespoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
1/2 teaspoon of cumin
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons beef bullion
2 to 3 pound roast, cut into bite size pieces
1 large onion diced
2 8 ounce cans of tomato sauce
1 tablespoon of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
1/2 teaspoon of cumin
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons beef bullion
Place the meat, onions, spices and tomato sauce into crock pot. Next, combine the beef bullion and water. Add to crock pot. Give it a good stir. Last, cook on low for 8 hours. If you would like the gravy to be a little thicker, add about 1/4 cup of flour before serving. Serve alone or on flour tortillas. Top with cheese. Enjoy!
WHAT ARE WE WORKING ON IN THE CLASSROOM?
HOMOPHONES
To prepare our students for their state writing test, we spend a lot of time working on homophones. A fun lesson to incorporate when students are comfortable with several homophone pairs and technology is using Edpuzzle and the book Dear Deer. Edpuzzle is great because it can be totally independent for students. Basically, you take a You-tube video and insert questions right into the video, or you can search their library of public lessons. Give it a try.
